Mobilizing 250+ youth leaders across 20 countries to transform mental health responses.
About Diya
Diya Mankotia is a 17-year-old youth social impact leader reshaping how schools respond to eating disorders. After her own journey with anorexia, she founded Project EDSA to ensure no student feels alone in their struggle. In less than six months, her initiative has mobilized over 250 volunteers in 20 countries, launched 50+ school-based chapters, and reached more than 200,000 people worldwide.
Beyond her own project, Diya serves as Program Coordinator for the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD) School Ambassador Program, supporting peer-led mental health clubs nationwide. Her leadership has been spotlighted by Texas Standard, Channel Kindness, and ATPE News, and she was honored as the August Mental Health Champion by the Mental Health Literacy Collaborative.

Project Overview

Project EDSA (Eating Disorder Support & Awareness) is a youth-led initiative dedicated to transforming how schools address eating disorders. In partnership with ANAD, the project empowers students and educators through peer-support programs, education, and advocacy.
By creating chapters and peer-support clubs across schools, Project EDSA builds safe spaces where youth can talk openly about mental health and access resources without stigma. Through workshops, awareness campaigns, and digital outreach, the project is changing how communities view eating disorders and ensuring students know they are never alone.
