Digital4Good Wins $15K Grant from the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation

Digital4Good is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of the 2025 Local Impact Grant recipients by the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation. Awarded $15,000 in recognition of our efforts in youth education, digital citizenship, and empowerment, this grant highlights our mission to equip students with the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital era.

Digital4Good is proud to be one of 69 United States nonprofits (and one of seven San Francisco Bay Area organizations) recognized!

This recognition comes at a critical time since October is National Bullying Prevention Month and the grant will fuel our initiatives to address cyberbullying, AI misuse, and digital safety across schools and communities.

The Grant Challenge

What Are NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants?

The NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants Challenge, launched in 2018, is a highly competitive program that supports nonprofits working on local issues. Since its founding, the challenge has distributed $21 million to 615 organizations nationwide.

In 2025, $2.5 million in grants were awarded to 69 nonprofits across 11 U.S. markets. Digital4Good proudly represents the San Francisco Bay Area alongside six other organizations, recognized by NBC Bay Area (KNTV) and Telemundo 48 (KSTS) for driving positive social change.

Community Impact

How Digital4Good Will Use the Grant

This funding will enable Digital4Good to expand our programs and resources that empower students to navigate the digital world responsibly.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, we trained 14,000+ Bay Area students to be Digital First Responders, youth leaders equipped to respond to cyberbullying, online harassment, and digital misuse. With the support of this grant, we will:

  • Expand interactive in-school presentations
  • Deliver engaging digital safety curricula
  • Provide tools for emotional well-being, digital literacy, and online safety

Local Voices on the Impact

NBC Bay Area and Telemundo 48 President and General Manager Stacy Owen emphasized the importance of this recognition:

“By empowering youth, inspiring the next generation of storytellers and strengthening community connections, they are driving change that moves the Bay Area forward.”

This grant is not just an investment in programming, it is an investment in the future leaders of our communities

At Digital4Good, our vision is to bridge the digital divide and ensure that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed online and offline. By fostering inclusion, reducing harm, and equipping youth with resilience and leadership skills, we are helping shape a safer digital future.
