About Saanvi
Saanvi Chiliveru is a passionate advocate for social media and storytelling. As the Co-Founder and Social Media Manager of Shade Seekers, she creates content to raise awareness about the urban heat island effect, reaching nearly 1,000 accounts.
Her experience as a Texas DECA Social Media Representative and internships at Radha Govind Dham Dallas and MOBILITY Credit Union have honed her skills in connecting communities and promoting inclusivity through social media.
About Lattika
Lattika Adloor, a high school student, co-founded Shade Seekers with a commitment to addressing urban heat challenges and promoting sustainable living. Her involvement in environmental clubs and volunteering has equipped her with skills to educate and inspire others.
Lattika's dedication to reducing the ecological footprint is evident in her creative approaches to urban greening and community engagement.
Project Overview
Shade Seekers aims to combat the urban heat island effect by increasing green spaces in cities through tree planting and rooftop gardens.
By conducting workshops and focusing on under-greened areas, Shade Seekers seeks to reduce energy consumption, lower urban temperatures, and create a sustainable model that can be replicated in other cities.
