About Naomi
Naomi Bamgbose, an 18-year-old software engineering student at The African Leadership University, is a global changemaker in technology, advocacy, and youth empowerment. As the co-founder of The Girls Techie (TGT), she has positively impacted over 600 young girls across Africa by equipping them with vital STEM skills and fostering a community of innovation and support.
Naomi's dedication to social change is evident in her role as an Ashoka Young Fellow, where she inspires young people to become active changemakers. Her work has been recognized by prominent platforms, showcasing her commitment to inclusivity, education, and empowerment across Africa.
Project Overview
The Girls Techie (TGT) is a nonprofit organization co-founded by Naomi Bamgbose and Sumayah Adegbite, aimed at empowering young girls across Africa. TGT offers hands-on learning experiences in STEM fields, inspiring girls to explore careers in science and technology. Operating in Nigeria, Kenya, and Tanzania, TGT has trained and mentored over 600 girls, fostering leadership skills and community engagement.
Through strategic partnerships, TGT expands its reach, nurturing a culture of innovation and collaboration. With plans to extend its programs to other African countries, TGT is dedicated to shaping the future of Africa by empowering the next generation of female leaders in STEM.
