Teaching Digital Citizenship

This curriculum is designed with you in mind to educate your students about digital citizenship, providing them with the skills and knowledge on how to engage safely and responsibly online. Through short interactive lessons, your students will learn how to respond to online negativity, report inappropriate behavior, and positive, safe ways to engage with social media and digital technology.

The Digital Citizenship Student Curriculum provides educators with comprehensive resources for teaching digital citizenship, safety, and wellness to their students.

Our curriculum offerings include lesson plans, assessments, and resources for educators. We also provide ongoing support to ensure that educators have everything they need to teach digital citizenship, safety, and wellness effectively.

By using this curriculum, educators will help students develop responsible digital citizenship skills, promote digital safety, and foster digital wellness. Our lessons are designed to be engaging and relevant to today's students, and are aligned with national standards for digital literacy.

How Do I Use This Curriculum?

There are 50 lessons designed to be taught in order, providing at least one lesson per week. Alternatively, they can be used as stand-alone lessons arranged by topic. 

Topics include: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Responsible Decision Making, Relationship Skills, and Social Awareness.

Each lesson consists of:

  • An Introduction
  • A Lesson Objective
  • An #ICANHELP Activity
  • #IWILLHELP Discussion Questions
  • An #IDIDHELP Positive Follow-Up Challenge 

Lessons are delivered using a variety of methods. In addition to teacher-led activities, lessons utilize:

  • Self-guided lessons intended for students to take ownership on teaching the lessons to their peers
